[Review] Adventures of a Swordsman Intro (Slayer)
Greetings reader, my name is Eric but I’m known under the name Mihawk on the forums.
I’m really excited about starting to write articles for the Tera-Affiliates Blog and I’m also excited to read future articles regarding all of the classes that exist in Tera.
The purpose of this articles is to express my dedication towards the slayer but also to provide information and tips about the class in upcoming articles.
First of all I would like to say that my history with Tera isn’t very long, I took interest into the game a few months ago and decided to join up with the European guild Ethics violation, lately I spent some time in the Korean version of Tera but not enough to reach the endgame of the slayer, barely midgame!
I also participated in the European community event which gave me a more detailed image of the slayer and I’m going to explain why this is a class you really want to try out!

In the beginning I thought long about what class to focus on with my time in Tera, I was certain that I would pick either the slayer or the berserker since they are the main melee dps classes though I wouldn’t say the lancer and the warrior aren’t deadly, however they are more functional as tank classes.
I tried out the berserker and was just amazed about the destruction of the mighty two handed axe he wielded, as long as I was able to hit my enemies they would be dead in no time.
So why did I choose the slayer instead?
The answer was mobility, the berserker was to slow paced for my taste but on the other hand the slayer was just rushing towards his enemies to finish them off with speed and power, my impression before playing the game was that the slayer wouldn’t be such a fast paced character cause of his huge two handed sword, yet I was able to combine his deadly damage with greater mobility compared to the berserker which made up my mind on what to stick with.
This is something I wouldn’t state about the berserker for endgame since both the slayer and the berserker gets additional skills that will affect the agility and movement in battle, however this review is about the community event where the level cap was 17.
As many other classes, the slayer has a dodge skill which helped me out a lot and it was the main factor of his mobility being better than the berserker.
The berserker doesn’t have a dodge skill but a block skill to shield himself for incoming attacks.
During the community event pvp actions my main interest was to duel against berserkers in order to get the impression of why the slayer had the upper hand in most of the battles,
The answer again was mobility, as long as I didn’t get hit by the axe then I was winning most of the duels against the berserkers.
I didn’t have highly enchanted items but instead mana regeneration runes which made me able to move around the berserker to wait for openings instead of continuously striking him in order to regain mana.
The berserker is a heavy damage dealer, but in this case he was the one who had to receive all the damage, in most of the cases he was desperately trying to hit me however I was always able to dodge and find vital spots to strike him for, his block skill was useful for incoming frontal attacks, but then again I had the upper hand and could just move behind him to hit him when his block skill was on cooldown.
The slayer is very aggressive and uses brute force over finesse and precision while the berserker has strength and precision in order to finish his prey.
Both of these classes are going to change to improved murder machines with new abilities in the future and I’m looking forward to see them evolve in Tera.
I hope you enjoyed my "introduction article" and rest assured that the Battle of the Huge Weapons just began !
